Keep a look out for hidden status systems in the workplace. These can be as overt as separate dining facilities, reserved parking spaces and different uniforms depending on title and position. Or, they can be subtle (but still noticed) such as slightly bigger cubicles, newer office furniture, better computers, or company cell phones. In many cases, there are practical and job-responsibility reasons for differences. But, where there are none, keep it equal. A feeling of equality engenders a more productive spirit.
